Club Med has invented a new convivial luxury characterised by a warm and elegant mood: magical places, exclusive and personalised services, original activities, interiors designed by international names capable of conveying the warm atmosphere that characterise the group’s resorts.
Stone and wood are the main materials chosen by architects of King Rosselli studio for the new facility consisting of low-rise buildings, which harmonizes with the natural surrounds and gracefully incorporates the Chapel and the Palace. Two listed buildings dating back to the Baroque period, for which Club Med has a particular regard: everything is strictly state of the art with contemporary comforts and design, without however forgetting tradition and history, which are highlighted and brought to life through new uses. So the Palazzo houses and the gourmet restaurant which, standing next to the Church of Santa Lucia, make the ideal setting for fairytale weddings, where guests can also enjoy the comforts of the Canonica suite.
“The Club Med team asked me for a design to evoke summer holidays, with a Mediterranean flair,” says Sophie Jacqmin who oversaw the interior design inspired by the natural landscape and its colours. “Around this concept I developed a project where everybody could feel, depending on their mood, alone with nature, with him/herself or with other people”. According to this idea, the resort is a frame where Nature is glorified. For furniture Jacqmin chose the pastel colours of precious materials like nacre and some reference to Baroque, a style that represents the splendid architecture of Sicily. Among the lamps chosen, the ones that best represent the baroque soul are Alysoid and Hoops pendant lamps, installed in the hall and in one of the four restaurants. Two collections that, as all the wall sconces, table lamps, modern floor lamps, pendant lamps, ceiling lamps of Axolight generate a strong visual impact in every kind of environment, respecting the elegant and peculiar style as in this project.
The resort offers an interesting gastronomic variety, guaranted by four restaurants and two lounge bars, two swimming pools, Carita spa and a huge number of accomodations like 304 rooms, 128 deluxe villas e 12 suites.
Club Med, founded in 1950 by Gérard Blitz, invented the all-inclusive holiday club concept, adding in activities especially for children with the creation of the Mini Club in 1967.
